Share only what is needed
Ask whether information is needed for the current task. Shared data can be difficult to retrieve. Check a form purpose and recipient. Avoid screenshots showing notifications, balances, recovery codes, or private conversations. Remove irrelevant parts and review the file. During introductions, work skills are generally more relevant than family data or identity photos.
Review device access
Use different passwords and additional verification when available. Review camera, location, and contact permissions rather than granting access because a button appears. Avoid saving credentials on shared devices and sign out afterward. A screen lock limits physical access but does not replace caution with links and attachments. Revisit permissions when you stop using a service.
Example: a message requesting a code
If a message claims to be from a platform and requests an OTP, do not enter it. Open the known official address and check whether action is needed. Preserve evidence without distributing sensitive data. If information was shared, use the account provider official recovery process. Do not accept recovery instructions from the same sender or share more codes to cancel the first one.
